THE HOLIDAYS ARE OFFICIALLY OVER
I guess the holidays are officially over; lights are coming down and remains of live trees are lying curbside awaiting the next pickup. The weather here in NW Ohio has been unseasonably warm although no records have been broken. Mid 40's, not too bad. ideal for tackling the coming designs for the next big holiday which I guess in the card design industry is Valentine's Day.
It's always a little challenging coming up with design ideas. I check the markets, which are very diverse. Personally, I'm not a fan of "comic valentine" and lean toward a niche market of those preferring, if not Victorian, at least images that are decades old. I picture a silhouetted couple under a big white moon; perhaps holding hands. For the little ones, I still love the anthromorphic characters, puppies and kittens with big red hearts. I'm afraid today's kids are way too sophisticated for those. And who sends the cards today? Couples? Grandparents? School kids? I'll try not to overthink. Stay tuned for what I think will be some unique and fun designs. And a Happy (albeit early) St. Valentine's Day to everyone. As you can see, I've added a sneak preview of what's to come at the store
